Auto Curators was founded by Paul Townsend in early 2015. Formerly of Shine On Auto Detailing, Paul spent nearly 10 years building his first venture from the ground up, within a fledgling industry. As the business blossomed, his reputation for quality spread, and he gained extensive technical and business expertise of the detailing industry.
In early 2015, the business was ready to expand and Auto Curators Ltd was born. The business has continued to thrive, ready for the next stage of our expansion.
A life long petrol head, Paul’s love of detailing started many years before he could drive a car. Inherited from generations of engineers and craftsmen, an ability to focus on the little things that make a big difference was inevitable. As well as a love for cars, Paul has also has a history of dabbling with motorbikes and even did some motor racing in 2017. His love of vehicles continues with his young son, as seen below whilst on holiday in Scotland.
Running his own business was a long term dream, realised when he established Shine On Auto Detailing. Since then, Paul has been asked to travel extensively around Europe to perform his art and is proud to have worked on some of the most amazing vehicles ever produced. His portfolio of cars and clients is as varied as it is impressive, his wealth of knowledge also having been applied to boats and aircraft too.
Paul’s talents have also been recognised by the media, having worked extensively with North One Television for the Fifth Gear programme, both on screen and behind the scenes. The piece about preparing new cars, first broadcast on The Discovery Channel in 2012, can be seen below. There have also been numerous articles written for print too, in both owners club magazines, and national publications such as this one in Ride magaine.
In 2014, Paul was asked by the BBC to appear with Chris Evans at Carfest South, in front of an audience of 30000 people, and broadcast live as part of The One Show to approximately 4 million households.

Our Founding Investors
By establishing our own fully supported UK network, we believe it will confirm Auto Curators as a nationally recognised brand. The integration of a franchise network into the business will bring local knowledge and contacts, enhancing our appeal to a broad range of clients, and empowering everyone involved to build their own success stories.
In recognition of successes to date and the potential of the business opportunity, founding investment and support was secured by 4 highly successful and influential individuals:
The input from these four individuals is invaluable. Sir Jackie, and Paul Stewart, as brand ambassadors, are very selective in the brands to which they align themselves with. Andrew Bailey and Mayank Patel have both built successful businesses from scratch, and are ideally suited to help Auto Curators and its forthcoming franchisees realise their best potential.
