If you’re at the end of a Lease or PCP contract, the time has come to decide, find a new deal or pay and keep. Over recent months we’ve welcomed more and more clients to our Hampshire detailing studio who have chosen the latter option.
For the first time in forever, people who come to the end of lease/PCP agreements still have decent car equity. Problems with supply chains and growing uncertainty about the financial implications of committing to finance for another 2/3/4 years mean that we’re seeing people settle their balloon payment and keep their car, then do some bits to refresh what they’ve got. Paint a bumper, polish it up, refurb the wheels, etc. The same happened in the 2008/9 recession; the difference was then that car values had dived.

How we can help to give your vehicle some TLC at the end of a lease or PCP agreement:
Doing away with dents
When clients decide to keep their car at the end of a finance or person lease agreement, there are a few common issues with which we deal. After a few years, there are often minor car park dents in doors. We can usually remove these quickly and easily with the fantastic PDR (Paintless Dent Removal). We supply this service through a third-party technician with whom we work.
Restoring the gloss
A thorough detail will make the car look much newer again. A deep clean and then a careful machine polish will rejuvenate the paintwork, restoring the gloss and depth of colour clients saw when it was new. Our Gloss Enhancement Detail is perfect for this situation.
A client recently bought his BMW 335d Touring at the end of his finance agreement. In beautiful Tanzanite Blue, he had looked after it very well during the first three years. However, with the current hassle and lead times ordering a new car, and the fact that he loves the car and it does everything he asks of it, it seemed daft to change it for a new one, just for the sake of it. So, it will visit our Hampshire studio for a Gloss Enhancement Detail. We’ll have it looking as good as new again, and once we apply our Signature Ceramic Coating, it will benefit from excellent protection for another 3+ years.
Wheel Refurbishment
No matter how careful we are, the fashion for bigger wheels shod in lower profile tyres has made them much more vulnerable to damage from touching a kerb. It’s been said that clean windows and wheels can make a car, and it’s quite true! A fresh set of refurbished wheels can transform the appearance of a vehicle, and you might even fancy a colour change at the same time (silver to black/grey, or vice versa).
The numbers add up!
Let’s say you’ve come to the end of a Lease or PCP contract where you were paying £300 – £500 a month. If you continue to set that budget aside for three months beyond the end of your contract, you could treat your car to quite the transformation at our Hampshire studios.
With around £1000-£1500, you could expect a remarkable turnaround on your car.
Options could include a Gloss Enhancement Detail, restoring your paint’s finish to a beautiful, glossy finish, and protecting it with our Signature Ceramic Coating. Still, within that budget, we could refurbish your wheels (depending on the size of the wheels and the finish). Finally, we’d clean and freshen your car’s interior, making for the overall experience of having a much newer car again.
