As a busy Hampshire car detailer, I don’t have much time to go down the YouTube rabbit hole. But Matt and I do appreciate that there is some great content out there. So, in this week’s article, we thought we’d share some of our favourite social superstars from the automotive world (and beyond). Read on for all the details.
A Hampshire car detailer’s favourite channels
M539 Restorations
As a big BMW fan, this is one of my favourite YouTube channels. The chap who runs it, Sreten, takes some really nice but tired older BMWs and brings them back to new condition. I love his obsession with everything being perfect, as factory-finish, and the effort he goes to researching the cars he works on.

Harry’s Garage
Harry’s Garage is a great way to waste an hour. Harry Metcalf is the person who started Evo magazine many, many years ago. He owns a collection of fabulous cars, and his channel documents both those and reviews of many new and exciting vehicles.
The Jensen FF R Restomod featured in the video below belongs to our client. It also features in our ‘Dedicated to the Pursuit of Excellence’ video on the home page of our website.

Hoovies Garage
Tyler Hoover is an ex-car salesman turned automotive writer. He’s now a YouTuber, amassing almost 1.5 million subscribers. On his channel, he documents his buying of rare and premium cars. But there is a catch, they’re usually the cheapest example in the country, and inevitably that’s for a reason. Some vehicles get fixed, and some are beyond economical repair, but it’s a great watch, and the potential repair costs that become apparent for some of the cars are eyewatering!
In the video below, he shares costly repair costs on the Maybach 62 he picked up at a bargain price.

Colin Furze
Colin furze is an absolute lunatic with excellent engineering skills. He builds stuff most other people can only imagine. He describes his channel as”the home of crazy inventions, brilliant world records and constant disregard to health and safety.‘
The video below is not automotive-related, but check out his FIRE BREATHING BACKPACK Self Defence system!

And now for something completely different – Marty Music
Yes, I’m a Hampshire car detailer, but vehicles and engineering are not the only things to feature on my favourite YouTube channels.
I’m learning guitar. Thankfully, there are a thousand channels to watch and learn from. But I really enjoy Marty Music, run by Marty Schwartz. He is a great teacher, I love his style, and he’s recorded lessons on how to play a few of my favourite Foo Fighters records, so he gets my vote.
