Auto Curators Signature Coating
In a bid to ensure the best results possible, whilst still maintaining excellent value for money, we set about sourcing our very own ceramic coating system. After much testing and sampling, we are delighted to offer our Auto Curators Signature Coating. We used the amazing Kamikaze Collection products as a benchmark, and so it is no surprise that we found what we wanted in Japan.
Our coating uses a 2 part system to deliver amazing results. Using our top coat as a single layer application works amazingly well to provide an extremely glossy and water repellent surface (see the video below), with a likely lifespan of 3 years when cared for properly.
Combining the two (dual layer application) offers the ultimate paint protection solution, with an expected lifespan of 5 years. It uses a combination of organic and inorganic compounds to best protect against attacks from the environment. Due to the 3D crystalline structure formed during the curing process, it has great chemical resistance (pH 2-13), a hard, scratch resistant surface (9H hardness on the MOHS scale), and amazing hydrophobic properties to aid with cleaning. The time taken to wash and dry your vehicle will be dramatically reduced, and because dirt is easier to remove, you’re less likely to impart swirls during the process.
This treatment is suitable for all paint types, including classics, as well as wheels, bare metal (it is suitable for high temperature applications, such as exhausts), gelcoat, and many more.
Kamikaze Collection
Manufactured in Japan, Kamikaze Collection is a revolutionary range of high-end boutique car care products combining state-of-the-art technology with traditional know how. Kamikaze Collection aims to offer the best car care products available regardless of cost.
Rainwater is repelled by Lotus plants because they possess a natural cleaning mechanism. Raindrops have virtually no contact with the plants surface and therefore water droplets roll off the leaf taking dirt, contaminants, adhesives and oil with them. Kamikaze Collection coatings have been engineering to mimic this behaviour as closely as possible, minimizing care required, and maximizing quality of finish.

As an Authorised Application Centre, our preferred choice of Kamikaze coatings is Miyabi Coat, followed by ISM Pro, but can apply any that you wish, including Zipang with its self healing properties.
In the Japanese language, the word “Miyabe” represents an aesthetic ideal of elegance and refinement, and this ceramic coating certainly provides that!
Kamikaze Collection Miyabi Coat is a VOC free, organic compound, containing smaller molecules than the average glass coat sealant, making it is less prone to water spotting. The high silica dioxide content provides durable protection and an amazingly clear, brilliant shine to any colour paintwork. Used a base coat, Miyabi Coat offers excellent chemical resistance (pH 2-11) and amazing hardness for scratch resistance (8-9H, based on the MOHS pencil hardness scale).
For the ultimate in hydrophobic water behaviour and outstanding gloss, we apply ISM Pro Hydrocarbon Coating. This is only available via professional application, from authorised detailers such as Auto Curators. Using newly developed technologies, ISM PRO combines high quality, German-sourced elements with Kamikaze Collections ultra-low molecular weight hydrocarbon ingredients to produce a coating with extreme water repelling properties. The ingredients are optically clear, so the result is a stunning, superior shine.
Dedicated Wheel Coating
R-EVOLVE is a specialized wheel coating based on a ceramic polymer technology. The chemical composition contains individual silicon ceramic base molecules. As the carrier solvent evaporates and the deposited film is exposed to moisture, the individual molecules begin to transform such that the temporary bond to the surface is converted to a permanent, covalent bond whilst the individual base molecules interlink to form a cross-linked network. The final chemical composition of the cured R-EVOLVE coating is a silicon/nitrogen hybrid which has many similarities to silicon nitride ceramic, a material used by NASA for the construction of rocket engine nozzles.
When fully cured, R-EVOLVE has the following attributes:
- It is extremely hard providing excellent scratch resistance.
- It has a low co-efficient of drag, meaning that abrasive particles are inclined to slide over the film, rather than catch and mark and cause marring.
- Strong hydrophobic behavior which inhibits the bonding of contamination and soiling.
- Exceptional resistance to heat. In practice, heat will only act to strengthen the cross-linked network.
- Extreme chemical resistance, more so than the underlying surface.
