Guarantee
2.1 Due to the nature of our work, we do not offer or imply any sort of guarantee or warranty. We are happy to offer advice on how to care for your vehicle following a Curation, but cannot be held responsible for your actions, or any subsequent damage caused to the finish, directly or indirectly by yourself (i.e. taking your vehicle through a car wash, bird droppings, industrial fall out, etc).
2.2 Where a guarantee is offered by a product manufacturer, we confirm that we will apply that product in accordance with the manufacturers training and instructions. Any terms and conditions applicable to the guarantee will be made clear to you at the time of booking and/or completion, and the process through which any claim would be made.
Vehicles
3.1 Auto Curators Ltd will take every care and reasonable precaution to safeguard your vehicle from damage or theft.
3.2 Vehicles left with Auto Curators will not be driven, other than to be moved around the Studio, unless expressly agreed with you. Whilst in our care, the vehicle will be fully comprehensively insured against theft or damage, underwritten by Ageas.
3.3 If you ask Auto Curators Ltd to collect and/or deliver your vehicle from home or work, you will be asked to fill in and sign an authorisation form. Someone must be present at collection and delivery to acknowledge the relevant time/mileage.
3.4 Where a customer vehicle is to be driven on the public road, it is your responsibility to ensure the vehicle is safe and legal to do so. This includes tax and MOT where appropriate, tyre condition, etc. If at the time of collection, a vehicle is, in our opinion, un-roadworthy, we reserve the right to refuse to drive it and no refund of deposit will be due if the booking cannot go ahead as a result.
3.5 When collecting and delivering, we will take the most practical, direct route, allowing for prevailing traffic/weather conditions. Please ensure your vehicle has sufficient fuel to complete the round trip. If we need to purchase fuel, this will be added to your final invoice.
3.6 Your car will be covered by our fully comprehensive insurance, and every reasonable precaution will be taken to ensure it’s safety.
3.7 Auto Curators Ltd will not be held liable for the cost of unforeseeable damage to windscreens or glass as a result of stone damage whilst driving, or tyre punctures/deflation. In any of these events, we will inform you as soon as is possible, to discuss remedial action. Where appropriate, we may choose to have the vehicle recovered back to you, or to our Studio.
3.8 Auto Curators Ltd will not be held responsible for faults that develop on the car, whilst in our care, that are unrelated to any work we have done. For example, air bag lights (where interior has not been removed) and engine light illumination. In these events, we will inform you as soon as possible.
3.9 Auto Curators Ltd will not be held responsible if work cannot be completed due to previous repair work, undisclosed information, or factors that could not be reasonably foreseen or prevented. Auto Curators Ltd will not be held responsible for any subsequent loss caused by work not completed within the originally agreed timescale, nor will you be liable for compensation.
3.10 Where your vehicle is fitted with in car recording equipment (dashcams or other vehicle CCTV), this must be switched off or disconnected whilst static in our workshop. This is to protect our privacy, and that of our other clients, from visual or sound recordings. This only applies whilst the vehicle is in our Studios. If the vehicle is to be driven by us during the time we have it, we are very happy to have the systems switched on and active. This does not apply to any sort of tracker vehicle fitted to the vehicle, unless it has the capacity to record video and sound.
Bookings, payments and cancellations
4.1 At the time of booking, a deposit payment of up to 20% of the quoted work is required. This can be made by bank transfer, or credit/debit card. If your deposit is not received within 7 working days (unless otherwise agreed), the dates will be offered to other clients.
4.2 You may amend the date, or cancel your booking, and receive a full refund, up to 7 days before the date of the booking. This date will be stated on the invoice supplied for your deposit. After this date, no refund will be offered, and the deposit cannot be transferred to another date. To make a new booking, a new deposit will be required.
4.3 If we are unable to attend a mobile booking due to adverse weather or other unforeseen circumstances, Auto Curators Ltd may, at their discretion, offer you an alternative date and transfer the deposit, or offer you a refund. There will be no compensation for subsequent loss if Auto Curators Ltd are unable to attend due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
4.4 Payment of the balance due will be required on the day of completing the work. There are no exceptions to this. Payment can be made by credit/debit card, cash, or by bank transfer in advance (cleared funds must reach our account before your vehicle will be released).
4.5 Where work is being carried out to correct a problem caused by a Third Party (for example, should we be requested to put correct defects caused by a Bodyshop – the Third Party – unrelated to work undertaken by ourselves), Auto Curators Ltd respectfully require that you make full payment upon completion of the work, and it is your responsibility to reclaim your costs from the Third Party.
4.6 If, as part of a Curation, work is to be carried out by one of our carefully chosen partners (e.g. bodyshop services, wheel refurbishment, etc), we reserve the right to request partial or full payment for that part of the booking in advance.
4.7 Further to 4.6, there may be occasions where additional work is required beyond what was initially quoted, and couldn’t reasonably be identified or foreseen at the time of booking. For example, during wheel refurbishment, it may be found a wheel needs straightening, metal tyre valves need replacing, or due to tyre pressure monitoring systems, a sensor (or sensors) may need to be renewed. We will endeavor to contact you immediately when we are made aware of this, but any additional costs shall be your responsibility, and Auto Curators Ltd shall not be liable for these.
4.8 In the event of wheels going to be refurbished, and it is found that one or more tyres are considered by the professional tyre fitters at our refurbishing partner to be illegal or dangerous to refit, we will not be held liable for the cost of replacing the tyre(s). In this instance we will contact you at the earliest opportunity to discuss options. This might be for us to supply tyres, or you may wish to organise them yourself. The only time we would insist upon us supplying is that if there would otherwise be an unacceptable delay or impact on our business caused by not being able to move your vehicle, due to a lack of wheels.
4.9 If your vehicle needs to leave our Studio for external work to be carried out, you will be consulted for permission beforehand, and informed as to exactly where and when this will be happening. Your vehicle will remain fully comprehensively insured by Auto Curators Ltd throughout this time.
